I've always had a thing about writing long songs. I don't set out to do it, but much of what I write just ends up being very long. Nine minutes, I must confess, isn't even the longest song I've written. My latest song that I wrote for 50 Songs in 90 Days was all of 3:20, and my buddy teased me that it must be a new record for me writing a song that short. I think it may be the influence of Pink Floyd, progressive album oriented rock, and the twelve inch single playing on me.
